I Moved Everything To An Organization And Now I Am A Manager
I moved everything to a new HuggingFace organization. CompactAI-O. The O stands for organization. Or maybe optimism. Or maybe oh-no-what-have-I-done. I have not decided yet.
Everything is there now. Haiku. Haiku-2. Sonnet when it finishes. Opus when I stop dreaming about it. All the datasets. All the confusion. All the pipe characters. Everything.
New home for all CompactAI things. New links are shinier. Progress is weird.
Moving to an organization feels like growing up. I am not sure I am ready. But the models do not care about my feelings. They just want a home.
Why The Move
Personal accounts are fine for hobbies. But CompactAI is more than a hobby now. It is a collection of tiny confused models. It is datasets. It is experiments. It is a mess. A beautiful mess. But a mess deserves its own space.
Organizations allow collaboration. They allow permissions. They allow me to say "you can upload models but please do not delete everything." This is important. I have learned this lesson the hard way.
Also it looks more professional. I am not professional. But the URL looks professional. That is half the battle.
What Moved
Models:
- TMLM-Haiku (the original confused one)
- TMLM-Haiku-2 (slightly less confused)
- TMLM-Sonnet (still training, do not ask)
- TMLM-Opus (a dream, a hope, a prayer)
Datasets:
- Prism (high-density distillation)
Everything else:
- Hope
- Confusion
- Pipe characters
# All accounted for. Mostly.
Everything is at CompactAI-O now. Nothing is lost. Nothing is broken. Yet. I am optimistic. I am also realistic. Realistically optimistic.
Joining CompactAI
Here is the part where I pretend to be in charge. Everyone is welcome to request to join CompactAI. If you think you can help, send a request. If you have ideas, send a request. If you just want to watch me struggle, send a request. I do not judge.
I can reject requests. This is important. I am not accepting everyone. I am not running an open door policy. I am running a "knock and I will decide if you seem nice" policy. This is my organization. I make the rules. The rules are simple: be helpful or be quiet.
Power is intoxicating. I have the power to reject. I will probably reject no one. But the option is there. Like a safety net I hope I never need.
Where Is The Join Button
I am not sure where the join button is. I enabled it in the org settings. Somewhere. Probably. If you find it, let me know. If you do not find it, that is also fine. We can figure it out together. Or not. I am flexible.
Step 1: Go to https://huggingface.co/CompactAI-O
Step 2: Find the join button (I enabled it somewhere)
Step 3: Tell me why you want to help
Step 4: Wait for me to overthink it
Step 5: Hope I say yes
# I usually say yes. Usually.
What Joining Means
Joining CompactAI means you can contribute. You can upload models. You can curate datasets. You can fix my broken training scripts. You can tell me why my loss curve is screaming.
It does not mean you have to. You can join and just watch. You can join and lurk. You can join and leave. I am not keeping score. I am just providing a space. A space for tiny models and the people who love them.
Why You Might Want To Join
Maybe you have ideas for tiny model architectures. Maybe you have data that could help. Maybe you just want to be part of something that is trying. CompactAI is trying. We are not succeeding yet. But we are trying. That counts for something.
Maybe you want to learn. Maybe you want to teach. Maybe you want to watch me fail in real time. All valid reasons. All welcome.
What Happens Next
Everything continues. Haiku-2 is still speaking sometimes. Sonnet is still training. Opus is still a dream. The only difference is the URL. And the feeling that I am slightly more organized. Slightly.
I will keep blogging. I will keep training. I will keep making mistakes. The organization does not fix my flaws. It just gives them a home. A professional-looking home. With a logo. Sort of.
Final Thoughts
CompactAI-O is the new home. Everything is there. Everyone is welcome to request to join. I can reject requests. I probably will not. But I can. That is the power of organization.
If you want to help, request to join. If you want to watch, request to join. If you just want to see what happens next, request to join. I am not picky. I am just hopeful.
Here is to the next chapter. Here is to tiny models. Here is to organized confusion. Here is to CompactAI-O.
